New Organ for St. Barnabas Episcopal Church

Construction is underway on Bond’s Opus 33, for Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island, Washington. This two-manual and pedal instrument, an important component of the church’s chancel renovation project, will be installed in late Summer 2006. The Great and Swell divisions will be housed in matching gothic-inspired cases, of cherry, flanking the apse window. Polished tin façade pipes are drawn from the Great and Pedal Principals; remaining Pedal pipes are to be located behind the central section of casework.

Though the movable terraced-drawknob console necessitates electric key and stop action, manual flue pipes will speak from Bond’s customary slider-and-pallet windchests. Reed pipes will be placed on unit-action chests for modest unification. A full complement of modern conveniences will be provided, including programmable crescendo pedal, piston sequencer and record/playback system.

Paul Roy is the church’s Organist/Choirmaster.
